????From February 4th to 12th, the intangible cultural heritage festival was held by District Laoshan, Qingdao to provide a cultural gala for Qingdao citizens to celebrate the Lunar New Year and enrich the mass cultural life during the spring festival.
????The Laoshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival mainly features local heritages. The folk art performance contest attracts 16 outstanding percussion instrument teams, dragon dance teams, lion dance teams, stilts team, land boat dancing teams, Yangko teams, and over 1,000 figurants. Over 100 civilian art teams forged by District Laoshan with priority offer art performances on streets with various cultural cuisines.
????In addition, over 20 cultural activities are held in the Laoshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival including Classic New Year Picture Exhibition themed with “The memories of Spring Festival”, riddles, interactive classroom to learn about intangible cultural heritages such as wood-block new year experience and interaction. All the works shown in the New Year picture exhibition are outstanding pictures from famous places of origin including Yang Liu Qing in Tianjin, Yang Jia Bu in Shandong, Tao Hua Wu in Suzhou, Mianju in Sichuan and Zhu Xin Zhen in Henan. As citizens learn about the New Year picture skills by visiting the exhibition, their interest and passion for intangible cultural heritages can also be cultivated.
????It is said that in recent years District Laoshan keeps promoting the digging, sorting, protection, inheriting, and introduction of intangible cultural heritages at different levels by providing nursery finance and communication platform. So far, District Laoshan has 3 national levels, 5 provincial levels, 14 municipal levels, and 47 district level intangible cultural heritages.
