BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Some 82.8 percent of kelp products made in
China are qualified, according to the latest sample survey conducted by the
State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the
Economic Daily reported Tuesday.
The survey showed
that 24 out of 29 varieties of kelp products made by 26
factories in coastal Shandong, Liaoning, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces met the
national quality requirements, the newspaper said.
High contents of arsenic and lead were blamed for the low quality of
unqualified kelp products, according to the administration. Enditem
